All groups are facilitated by Linda Griffin, a licensed marriage and family counselor who has specialized in the field of domestic violence since 1980. No interns are used in this program.
Clients are treated with respect, and the underlying assumption is that mistakes were made in their relationship because they lacked skills and information about how to manage conflict in healthy ways.
State law requires that groups must be same gender, and couples counseling is not permitted for clients who must enroll as part of a court order. In addition, the law does not allow participants to finish the program early by attending extra sessions each week, and groups are required to be 2 hours in length. All classes take place in person.
